New report: A deep dive into how people are actually living with AI
We partnered with Hannah Grey VC on this year’s Cultural Vibrations to build the Vibrations Index, a study of how people are actually living with AI.
What stood out wasn’t a clear opinion, it was a pattern that kept surfacing in conversation. People would talk about how often they use AI now, how helpful it is, and how it’s become part of their routine. Yet. while they do this they describe as though it's a flawed, funny, contradictory and even loving human.
For instance, we kept hearing some version of: “I use AI all the time. I just don’t trust it.”
That tension kept showing up, and not as a contradiction people were trying to resolve, but as something they were actively living with. AI is useful, but there are still moments where people hesitate, where they draw a line, where they want a person instead.
The work became less about what people think about AI, and more about how they navigate it, where it still feels human. AI can help, it can heal, get things wrong, and perform - just like humans.
This report brings together perspectives on where AI and culture are heading. We also wrote a piece, Make Language Dangerous Again, which looks at how technology has corrupted language - losing the human as it does so.
